ALARMA UNIVERSAL CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF SECURITY SYSTEM SOLUTIONS

Alarma Universal now celebrates 30 years on the Costa del Sol as the most innovative security system experts in the area. The company began in 1983, but it was when Peter Nissen took over the business in 1986, and introduced his unique ‘Security Triangle’ system to Spain, that the company really began to take off.

The company based in Fuengirola, on the Costa del Sol, is highly respected, and in 2014 Peter Nissen received an award from the President of the Spanish security industry, in front of representatives from the Spanish government, senior police officers and his peers. José Manuel López Fernández from the Spanish Security Industry Society (FES) nominated Alarma Universal to receive the award, based on the company’s ethics of: Discretion, seriousness and honesty. It was also a way of bestowing on Peter Nissen – once a newcomer – the final seal of approval.

The ‘Security Triangle’ system was initially developed by Peter Nissen in Denmark, before it was introduced to Spain via Alarma Universal. The premise behind the system is that an alarm system will only be completely effective if it has three vital elements: Detection from the security system, verification from a 24-hour control centre and reaction from the security guard. It is the reaction part of the service that is unique to Alarma Universal as they have their own team of security guards.

Unlike other security providers, Alarma Universal sends assistance to assess the situation before calling the police. This is vitally important, as unwarranted calls to the police could leave you liable to pay a hefty fine of up to 30.000 €. It also means that a professional key holder will be on hand to manage the situation in the event of break-in. The impact of introducing this concept has been immense, providing the blueprint for future security systems.

“It would not have been possible to achieve this important milestone without our team of dedicated professionals. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported us over these three exciting decades, and also for the many recommendations we have received from our loyal customers”, commented Christina Nissen, Peter’s daughter and the Director Alarma Universal.

“We continue to look forward and are constantly updating our systems to include the latest technological developments, to ensure that we respond to our customers’ needs and can provide the most effective security systems for homes and businesses on the Costa del Sol.”

The key to the success of Alarma Universal’s systems is that they are all linked to a 24-hour operations centre based in Malaga’s Technology Park. Once an alert is received, their highly trained multilingual team will assess the situation, and if required, assistance will be instantly dispatched to the property – day or night – with their own force of security guards. If required, the security guard will contact the police. It is for this reason that over the last 30 years, Alarma Universal has become highly respected by the police and within the industry.
