BSM gives peace a chance!

A Peace Festival at the British School of Marbella has raised a massive €1,754 for Syrian refugees.

Children, staff and parents dressed up as hippies for the event to celebrate the International Day of Peace – with all funds going to the Help for Syria charity.

During the festival youngsters sang songs by Bob Marley and John Lennon, while Lola from Year 5 read a thought provoking speech about humanity and society.

After the singing, teachers, children and parents set up a number of stalls with games and crafts to sell, such as peace bracelets and headbands.

BSM Head Teacher Sian Kirkham, said: “It was a fantastic event that raised an impressive amount for charity. A few world leaders would benefit from listening to our children’s pleas for peace; they could certainly teach them a thing or two about how to live in a fair and caring world.”
