The Children for Peace 1st annual benefit gala in Paris.
The benefit event was held at the exclusive Cercle de l’Union Interallié, on the 19th of November 2012. Important and well-known faces of the national and international jet set gave their support to the fundraising. Godmother of the Evening: Marisa Berenson, UNESCO Artist for Peace. Presented by Emmanuel De Brantes. Performances by Chico and the Gipsies.
The special event held this year in Paris, was supported by a large turnout of persons who wished to help the charity in some way, and included members of the aristocracy, well known stars and celebrities. The popularity of this charity is growing, as the prestigious guests that turnout each year for these glamorous gala events clearly shows.
The Children for Peace, is a UNESCO recognised charity, created and advanced by the determination of their indefatigable President Debra Mace and Vice-President Lamia Khashoggi, who have shown, what real commitment and effort can achieve, often against very difficult odds. But these two ladies, leading by example, have worked ceaselessly to create a charity which is really making a difference to the lives of suffering and deprived children, barely surviving in areas blighted by war disasters.
The Children for Peace (ONLUS), is an Italian NGO founded with the express purpose of assisting children worldwide who are in need of fundamental survival support. The Children for Peace has taken on the cause of such children internationally and intends to pursue all possible avenues to provide them with the help and support that will allow for the best possible chance at a better future.
Children are caught in the wars of illiteracy, of armed conflict, of hunger, starvation, illness, and of isolation from opportunity. Although the task of remedying such situations is great, and often, to others, impossible, we know that the only way adversity is overcome is to confront it head-on and take all necessary actions to create change. It is with this in mind, that The Children for Peace was founded.
They recently received recognition from UNESCO for their work, of which they are very proud.
All donations they receive go directly to the projects they help fund. They pay no salaries and no overhead except for annual fee paid to an accounting firm that files all documents required for the government in Italy.
