Festival Internacional de Los Pueblos en Mijas
The famed International Festival of Mijas kicks off once again from the 8th June to the 10 June in the picturesque town of Mijas situated high in the hills overlooking the City of Fuengirola and the sparkling blue Mediterranean sea. The popular event is a celebration of Mijas, it’s multi-ethnicity and international outlook, as people from many nations who live or work in the area, gather annually, to share, exhibit and celebrate their national cultures in a dazzling display of art, music and dance.
The new Mayor, representatives of the Town Hall and the organizers of this terrific event, will also be in attendance as well as the media, TV and radio stations who will be out in force recording the varying shows.
This year the event will be hosting stands from Germany, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, The UK, India, Israel, Morocco, Mexico, Senegal, Ukraine, Uruguay, and Vietnam, who will be displaying their delightful individualistic array of wares, food and beverages to suit all tastes.
Having attended many times before I will be there again this year, and the turnout is usually high, with an expected number of visitors to possibly exceed some 9000 people and the Festival event continues all through the day till midnight.
This year is especially satisfying for me, as the popular Manuela Veronese the owner of the famous dance school FAMA, will be performing their exciting dance routines and this year, they are including two of my musical compositions; one being Corazon the music used by the Children for Peace and Nostradamus, a new single just released on the Plaza Record label.
So all in all, it will be an exciting three day event and one which I can highly recommend as there is something for everyone of all ages.
