The Children for Peace Charity Gala, Rome, December 3rd, 2011.
It was a pleasure and an honour to be invited by the president of the charity, Debbi Mace and vice-president, Lamia Khashoggi to travel to Rome to photograph this prestigious event. Generous as ever, over 250 guests came to support the invaluable work of The Children for Peace ONLUS, filling the richly decorated discotheque/event center Spazio 900. They were treated to a very special and magnificent performance by Micheal Bolton. His gracious response to the multitude of requests to be photographed with him was impressive. The driving force behind the Marbella campaign, Dario Poli, asked me to join his team two years’ ago. The first major event that I attended was The Children for Peace charity gala at the Incosol Hotel, Marbella, part of the Jale group of companies. It is always a pleasure to see the president of Jale, Jose Antonio Lopez Esteras and his wife – they came to Rome to give their continued support to The Children for Peace, and left with one of the many generously donated raffle prizes. Also travelling from Spain were Princess Beatriz Hohenloe and Princess D’Orleans.
The guest list included Alberto Bochicchio, the Vatican’s Master of Ceremonies, Prince Carlo Giovannelli and Pupi D’Angeri, the Belize Ambassador. Seated with Adnan and Lamia Khashoggi, Debbi Mace and Michael Bolton were Sidr Aly Aziz, and Ms. Isabella Clemente. Delia Antal, film producer, director and actress, most notably her film “Dora”. Models, actors, actresses and Italian celebrities generously gave their support to the charity event: Eugenia Chernyshova, Cristina Lucchini, Beppe Convertini, Elisabetta Rocchetti, Linda Batista, Maria Leitner, Umberto Salomone, Laura Piva, Lino Banfi, Valeria Marini, Tiziana Rocca, Candida Mordillo, Paolo Saluzzi, Isabele Adriani, Teddi Katzarova, Francesco Panella Kledi Kladiu and Bruna Rossi, fashion director. Bern Beetz CEO of Coty Inc., was Lamia Khashoggi’s guest of honour and Italian singing sensation Arianna Bergamaschi performed “The Prayer” with Michael Bolton
Maria Gracia Boscolo, from the luxury hotel group, was one of the main sponsors, together with Citroen, who invited over twenty guests. Other sponsors for this event were Abitare, Ada Channel, Asymetrix, Blastness, Darboeventi, de Grisogono, Industrie Edidi, Tiziana Rocca Comunicazione.
