David Mairs - Ultimate Professional
Born in Coatbridge Scotland, the young David Mairs played organ in his first band at the age of 15yrs and as his emerging talent became noticed by his peers, he worked with many top bands in Scotland and performed with names such as The Searchers, The Easybeats, The Tremelos, Love Affair, Edison Lighthouse and many more.
He emigrated to the Costa Del Sol in 1991 where he met and worked with singer song writer Mel Williams arranging the music for Mel’s stage productions “Professor Fossil” and “ Don Zabatel” Then came live TV performing the music for Maurice Boland’s Breakfast show where he worked with Lonny Donegan, Mike McGere, Bonny Langford, Linda Nolan to name but a few.
David’s talent, versatility and personality has made him one of the best known and respected musicians on the coast. A testament to his 11yrs as resident pianist/vocalist in the beautiful ”Restaurant Mijas Playa” where he met Dario Poli the composer of the music “Marbella Marbella” which Dario asked David to arrange, and with the talented Alan De Ward from German show business and TV, as the vocalist, he arranged and produced in his own music studio, the fabulous song “Marbella, Marbella”. Which was played in many radio stations and some TV programmes, even reaching the premier radio station in Scotland, Radio Clyde Fm.
From the early days David Mairs has been a willing supporter of Dario’s campaign to promote Marbella and the Costa del Sol, and together the two musicians, initially set up a new website The Costa Del Sol Voice. Then they created a new and exciting Cd of original songs, titled “Living in the Sun” sung by David, and featuring his daughter the Scottish singing star Samantha Mairs, to further help promote the Costa de Sol by using the power of music.
He currently writes a regular monthly feature for the elegant Costa Del Sol Home Magazine.
