Marbella meets Manhattan

While meetings between Marbella and New York dignitaries went well by all accounts, here´s a viewpoint describing what closer Spain-US relations mean to Costa del Sol veteran, Jack Nusbaum:

“I was born and raised in Newark, NJ which is a short drive via a tunnel or bridge to NY, and I spent many years heading into NY for live theater, museums, art galleries, films, classical music, opera, ballet…after WW2 (I served in the Central Pacific Campaign under the GI Bill of Rights for War Vets), I went to Parsons School of Design/New York University to earn my college degree.

All my years here on the Costa del Sol connect beautifully with my NY background. For example, back in 1969 on my first visit to Spain – driving from Madrid to Costa del Sol there was only ONE ‘ROAD’ WITH TWO LANES – one coming, the other going, as there were very few cars in southern Spain. Plenty of taxis!

Among many other things here, Marbella was still a small village, one main street (still there today), and not much in the way of activities, lots of small local bars/cafes/restaurants/small shops, etc.

And Puerto Banús didn’t exist until years later. AND WOW! HOW MARBELLA HAS CHANGED!!!

It´s a terrific addition for the Costa del Sol connection  with the ‘firsts’ I’ve achieved in the golf world which, thanks to accomplishing a new way of life, I teach golf to the visually, physically and mentally impaired here on the coast, centered around Marbella.”
