Results for Innovative Businesses thanks to CADE Marbella

It was good to see the substantial turnout of business owners to support the 2nd Costa dle Sol Foreign Business Day and Awards Ceremony. Talk Radio Europe radio boss, Maurice Boland was the host with the most, and brought a light-hearted air to the ceremony, which naturally touched on the realities facing many businesses when trying to survive in business in a tough economic downturn.

Organized by the CADE Marbella, an off-shoot of the Junta de Andalucia, it is encouraging that the Junta, the CADE and co-organizers the Malaga Chamber of Commerce, and sponsors Unicaja bank, are doing everything in their power to raise awareness of the support available to businesses when the going gets tough.  Helping not just start ups, but entrepreneurs looking for investors and businesses that need to dig in and refocus, CADE boss Oscar Fernandez outlined the help available to businesses – and why it was so important to applaud the efforts and successes of existing foreign businesses in the area.

Facing A World of Change

Following illuminating speeches from a leading executive with Google Spain, on the fast-changing technological landscape which is shaping the world; Klaus Rohrer of Buchinger Clinic Marbella on their 30 year success story, and Chris Chaplow founder and president of Andalucia.com on the secret ingredients of a successful internet business, the awards got underway.

It was a sign of the times that many of the 60 or so businesses nominated for the award were relatively new on the Costa del Sol business scene – and true to form, the panel of 9 judges allocated the awards to businesses which genuinely represented innovation and new technologies.

Congratulations go out to the  2009 winners of the Costa del Sol Foreign Business Awards:
