Music: Bach’s Sarabande from Suite for Solo Cello No. 1 in G Major, BWV 1007 performed by Yo-Yo Ma

Nominated as Most Creative Video 2nd Annual YouTube Awards

From the earliest recorded history of mans attempts to create paintings and share information, women have featured heavily in the work of our ancestral artisans . The list of women depicted over the centuries are too many to record here in this article; but the superb video created by  Philip Scott Johnson posted above, gives you the visitor, an intriguing  sample of the faces of women that have inspired the greatest creative talents of their time.

As a young up-and coming artist, I too was inspired to draw and paint images of women, especially when I was attracted to them, though not exclusively. It does not surprise me that Philip Scott Johnson has worked so diligently  in creating a wondrous collection of women painted by the great masters from the Renaissance  to modern times.  His superb video has been  nominated as  Most Creative Video 2nd Annual YouTube Awards  and includes many of the most renowned and  celebrated artists, including the likes of Michelangelo,  Leonardo da Vinci,  Raphael,  Caravaggio,  Henri Matisse,  Joan Miro Claude Monet,  Giuseppe Arcimboldo,  Vincent Van Gogh,  Rembrandt van Rijn,  Edgar Degas,  Max Ernst,  Rene Magritte,  Paul Gauguin, Alphonse Mucha,  Wassily Kandinsky,  Paul Cezanne,  Salvador Dali,  Hieronymus Bosch,  Diego Velásquez,  Pierre-Auguste Renoir,  Marc Chagall, and Amedeo Modigliani, are a sample of the artists included that I hope you will enjoy!
