The Marbella Design Academy founded in 1995 by the Danish Interior Architect Helle Byrn has the 15 October 2009, won:
The Costa del Sol Business Award 2009 – for the best Integration in Andalucia.
300 business people, the press, the media and Junta de Andalucia was present at the Award Ceremony at Hotel El Fuerte in Marbella.
In August 2008, the Academy relocated to its new building situated in the village of Monda on the outskirts of Marbella. The new building meet with all the Ministry of Educations and the Junta de Andalucias demands which included obtaining more than 30 different permissions of different kinds. It was also required that the building have an Andalucian look and thus ends up being a beautiful addition to the already picturesque village of Monda.

Marbella Design Academy has the honor and privilege of being the only State Recognised international design Academy in Spain. The students are coming from all over the World to study at the Academy.
Courses in Interior Design, Graphic Design, Fashion Design and Web-Design, are all established courses that are available at the Marbella Design Academy. This expansion of courses continue even today as the Academy are in the process of developing a Digital Film and Television course which should be ready for the 2010-2011 Academic year.
The Marbella Design Academy has yet to hit its full stride. The Academy are going to keep growing, bringing more and more students to the area and exposing more and more people to the beauty that is Marbella, Monda and Andalucia. The Marbella Design Academy staff team, feels privileged to be and are going to keep working hard to create the best place to study and to create the most professional creative designers.
