The Marbella Film Festival Inaugural Party at the Marbella Casino

The Marbella Film Festival held their inaugural party called Festa Cubana for the opening of the Marbella film Festival which runs from the 14th to the 16 of October at the H10 Andalucia Plaza Hotel Puerto Banus.

I was invited to attend the party by the energetic Jo-Anne Frisa Van Tuijil the principle and driving force of this exciting innovative film organization. The event was sponsored by the Casino Marbella and is supported by the Marbella Town Hall, The Spanish Embassy Cultural Office, the Junta De Andalucia and numerous other prestigious companies such as IBeria, Talk Radio Europe and the University of Miami.

The party was held in a lovely area adjacent to the Casino and was romantically illuminated by many lamps and an area was used for dancing to a first class group of musicians, who provided the more than two hundred and fifty guests, with a taste of authentic Cuban music, while they enjoyed the tapas and wine and chatted to and interacted with many personages from the film industry, including film writer Paul Grimshaw considered by some, to be a new Tarantino

Representing the Ayuntamiento of Marbella was popular Jose Luis Hernadez Garcia Councillor for Tourism and Foreign Residents. The press and media was also in attendance and numerous interviews took place during the evening.

All in all it was a delightful way to begin the festival, which I believe should be supported by the people of Marbella, as it is an innovative and intelligent iniciative, that will grow and will bring benefits to the City of Marbella.
