Note by Note: How to make a Steinway
The film “Note by Note: How to make a Steinway” by Ben Niles shows the creation of a Steinway Concert Grand Piano, from the forest floor to the concert hall. Each piano’s journey is complex, spanning 12 months, 12.000 parts, 450 craftsmen, and countless hours of fine-tune labour.
Filmed in Steinway factory and in the rooms for private auditions, this film is not only a celebration of craftsmanship but a reminder of how extraordinary the dialogue can be between an artist and an instrument crafted out of human hands but born from the materials of nature.
The film is on Thursday 20th of May, 20:00 at Manolo Santana Racquets Club.
