Concordia Summer Gala 2011
    The annual Concordia Summer Gala, held at the prestigious and exclusive Marbella Club, was once again a memorable and spectacular evening, enjoyed by over 300 guests from all around the world. Princess Marie-Louise of Prussia, president of the association, with her husband Count Rudolf von Schönburg-Glauchau, personally greeted and thanked all her supporters. She had chosen a Mexican theme this year, and had organised a troupe of mariachis, singers and dancers from Mexico, dressed in their traditional costume – many of the guests added to the abundance of vibrant colour with their own personal interpretation of Mexican costume.
    Amongst the multitude of international celebrities were Guinalla von Bismark, Luis Ortiz, Princess D’Orleans, Princess Beatriz Hohenloe, Ariana Hohenloe, Ute and Mario Ohoven, Fernando MartÃnez de Irujo, Carmen Lomana, Kristina Szekely and many more.
     I was very pleased to meet again the special guests Debbi Mace, president of The Children for Peace, and Lamia Khashoggi, vice-president, who presented Princess Marie-Louise with a donation of 5,000 euros to help specifically in the Mali project. The ever-generous guests, who had   each also donated 300 euros via their tickets for the gala, further added to the much-needed funds of Concordia, eagerly participating in the raffle, with exceptional prizes donated by the equally generous sponsors.
    Concordia is a non-governmental private organisation, founded in 1994, whose mission is to carry out a programme of informative and preventive advice campaigns specially designed to brake the advance of HIV infection, and to ensure the comprehensive care of AIDS patients and those infected by HIV, their families and contacts.
