Amazonian Adventure
Amazonian Adventure
It’s not every day that a real life adventurer talks to your class at school!
But that’s what happened when the National Geographic Adventurer of 2014—Dave Freeman—talked to Year 3 pupils at the British School of Marbella via Skype for almost an hour.
The youngsters heard all about his canoe trip down the River Amazon, saw a piranha that he’d caught, found out that the largest anaconda on record is longer than 7 children laying end to end and even watched him shoot a poison dart!
The talk was part of Wow Day, which is designed to spark children’s interest in an upcoming topic.
After the online chat, Year 3 went on a real life adventure to Paco Cantos, where they had to find and identify animals which were hidden among the trees.
