The Children For Peace - A Charity That Makes A Real Difference to Children
The Children for Peace ONLUS has had long-time friends since our first gala in Marbella in 2010. Dario Poli and Paul Wilcockson have supported us constantly, not only when we arrive in Marbella for our events, but throughout the year. We are never forgotten by either one of them and this means the children we represent are never forgotten. I am writing this to acknowledge the unrelenting contributions they make to our charity.
MarbellaMarbella is as close to our own website as is possible. They promote our events but they also maintain vigilance on our activities. By doing so, they are able to keep their visitors who are interested abreast of our ongoing march against illiteracy and neglect on children internationally. Our cause has become their cause and we are grateful to Dario and Paul for their passionate commitment to the children.
Our fund-raising concert in Marbella on 23 June 2012 was unique for us. We were blessed to have Montserrat Caballé and Montserrat Martà donate their time and talent for the children we represent. The concert was a huge success on a night where Spain played their football game (and WON!) and San Juan was celebrated. We are endeared to all who attended the concert and showed their commitment to opera as well as to the cause of children in need.
Montserrat is not only a humanitarian, but she is also a dear friend who rallies to our side whenever we ask with Montserrat Martà at her side. Montserrat Martà is a grand talent in her own right who has blessed us with her grace, her magnificent voice and her dedication to The Children for Peace ONLUS. On behalf of the children, we thank them from the bottom of our hearts.
We also thank Nikolay Baskov who flew in from Moscow for this special event. Due to a sore throat that developed after his arrival, he was unable to perform.
We offer a special note of appreciation to our friends without whose support we could not have attained the achievements we have made thus far. Although there is an appearance of festivity in charity events, the real purpose for the gathering of so many is the push for funds to benefit the children who are orphaned by HIV/AIDS, who are illiterate and whose future would be very bleak without the financial support we receive.

We thank the Town Hall and especially Mayoress Maria Angel Muñoz and Mr. Jose Luis Hernandez for their support of our work. Their care and their efforts more than portrayed their dedication, not only to us, but to the city of Marbella.
We also thank all our friends who traveled from other countries to join us and show their support while absorbing a unique and historical concert at the Puento Romano Tennis Club.We could not have achieved this magnificent evening without Mr. Franck Sibille and Mr. John Thomson who moved mountains for us so we would enjoy a successful evening.
To Joanna Dunbar and Fox Productions Spain, we extend a special note of appreciation and gratitude. Jason and Joanna worked day-and-night to ensure every need we had was met for our guests and for Montserrat and Montserrat MartÃ. Without them, we truly could not have had such an evening. We will never forget them and they have a special place in our hearts.
To all of Spain, with an emphasis on Marbella, we thank you, we salute you and we carry your love with us always.
