"Marbella Marbella Adelante" - With artist Joyce Balk
2011 has begun positively as we are delighted to announce that the gifted and creative artist Joyce Balk, who originates from the Netherlands, but resides in Marbella, has now joined our dedicated team of contributors for “Marbella Marbella Adelante“.
I was fortunate to meet Joyce at an art exhibition early in 2010 and thankfully we kept in touch and now she is willing to give us some of her valuable time to write about her work and interests.
Her artistic creations are sublimely elegant, is the best word I can find to describe her beautiful individual works of art, that clearly allows a sensitive observer to gaze through a window of light that shines from and onto her heart, as she weaves her fertile imagination, across the surfaces she has prepared for her visual expressions.   Â
She comes for Holland, a land small in land mass, often pressed severely by the sea, but huge in it’s international reputation for artistic creativity and whose hard working artists, even reached the heights of the Italians during the glorious days of the Renaissance. Joyce Balk continues in that esteemed tradition.
In the next week or so Joyce will be publishing her first article which we hope you will enjoy and perhaps engage and interact with her. I would welcome an exchange of ideas on art between the sculptor Chris Stone and Joyce as it would be interesting for us also. I have posted below one sample of her art just to give you a flavour of whats to come.
We wish her the very best for 2011 in all that she does.
